3/26 - Red Hawk

At least it wasn't snowing a blizzard like every other time we've played at the Red Hawk. A nice change of pace. Thanks to the parents of the Lake Catholic Cougars, we had quite a crowd. They were celebrating having had a great season and thanks to their leader I got to have a big old lesbo moment when I sang "you're just too good to be true" to his wife. That's right....his request to his wife to have the girl sing. Ah, the logic of the drunken mind. I changed it up to "he can't take his eyes off of you" and then I pretty much told her that she knows the rest and I stopped singing. A couple were trying to teach their little girl how to shoot pool, but she did much better with out their instructions. At least when she was doing it on her own there were no stray cue balls making their through the air in a bee-line to us. Shortly after they left, the woman returned by her own self to meet up with their friend and left again with him...probably to shoot pool. Oh, and let's not forget about the woman who pulled up a chair at the table in front of us and then just sat there staring at us, clutching her purse (which was not a clutch purse). Jake and I were pretty sure that she put the mal occhio on us. For those of you who are too lazy to look that up or thought that I failed to use spell check before posting, it's an Italian curse. Okay, so what are the odds of us seeing this EVER, but twice, and both times coming home from a Red Hawk gig ~ a car going the wrong way (as in heading toward us) on the highway. This time there was no need to call the police to report it as we had just passed a catching speeders kinda guy. Pretty sure that driving-the-wrong-way guy made his night.
